Dermapen 4 Microneedling

Day 1 - Your skin may look flushed and feel warmer. You may experience inflammation, itching and burning. Like a moderate sunburn. Avoid touching your face. Avoid direct sun exposure.  Avoid cleansing. Can apply cover recover if skin feels dry.

 

Days 2 to 5 - The redness should start to fade. Your skin will feel tight and dry. You may experience some peeling and flaking. Resist the urge to pick or scratch. Some people experience some minor breakouts around day 2 to 3 post treatment. This happens when impurities from deeper skin layers are brought to the surface during the healing response.  Apply dp dermaceuticals moisturiser and cover recover sunscreen for the next 2 to 3 days until finished. 

 

Days 5 to 7-  Redness and or peeling should be subsiding. Skin will start to look more radiant and plump. This is where you come in for a complimentary led facial. You can resume your actives.

 

When will I start to see results?

You will start noticing improvements in fine lines, acne scars, and overall firmness in 4 to 6 weeks. This is where the deepest layers of your skin are remodelling, producing new collagen and elastin.

Maximum Results are seen after a series of treatments from 3 to 6 months as collagen fully matures.

Clients typically have a course of 3 to 6 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Some clients have it throughout the year for maintenance.

Do's and Don’ts after Microneedling

• Do use a gentle cleanser like ultra calm cleanser or special cleansing gel

• Do apply the DP Dermaceuticals moisturiser for the first 2 to 3 days

• Do clean glasses with an alcohol swab

• Do apply Sheer Cover Recover sunscreen 

• Don’t expose your skin to direct sunlight

• Don’t wear makeup for 24 hrs. While skin is healing a mineral make up only. Aspect mineral foundation recommended

• Don’t use saunas or steam rooms. Avoid hot showers. Avoid heavy exercise for 48 hrs

• Don’t go swimming for 3 to 7days 

• Don't pick at the skin

• Don’t use any actives or exfoliation for 5 to 7 days or until skin has settled. Once any visible redness or sensitivity has subsided, they can be reintroduced gradually depending on how your skin responds

• Don’t drink alcohol and limit caffeine in the first 24hrs as it can make your skin feel more sensitive after microneedling 

• Don't wear a face-mask for 48 hours following treatment or until redness settles
